What did Jean Paul Sartre mean by saying "Man is nothing else...than the ensemble of his acts, nothing........

.....else than his life"????

here are the choices:

a- innate ideas of God are supported (i'm sure this one is wrong)

b- experience is not to be wished for in life

c- avoid pain

d-man is a collection of his experiences

e-live to excess|||d)

If I'm remembering correctly, Sartre was trying to refute the idea that essence precedes existence and make the point that our only essence comes from how we have lived out our life and the choices we have made.|||Sounds like D

And from what I know about his philosophy It could really only be that one out of those choices.|||A man is remembered even after his death for what he did for the mankind. So in other words identity of a person comes from his work. Even when one is alive he known by his work. He is a painter, carpenter social worker or doctor. Without work he is nothing.|||D|||Sounds like a loaded question if you ask me. I think you already made up your mind.|||yeah, 'd' is pretty obviously correct, as it is the onyl answer congruent with Sartre's Existentialism.
